A Brief Introduction to Adult Role Playing Communities
Role playing (or “RPing”) can be described as a written collaboration among people as they each control their own character and interact with the other characters to realize some sort of objective. Written role play emerged from tabletop role playing games (RPGs) like Dungeons & Dragons and early role playing games. The fictional collaboration model of forum-based role playing is essentially a traditional role playing game without the rigid mechanic of dice and rules. Only a few residual characteristics of forum play-by-post role playing points back to its tabletop predecessors, and that’s primarily its turn-based format and the “Game Master” entity responsible for controlling the pace of the role play, progression, and the non-player characters and events that happen.
The adult role playing convergence has full the written role play subject and narrowed it into the niche of adult themes and sexual themes. Where a conventional role play could involve hobbits taking a powerful ring to the summit of a volcano, adult role playing involves a dance of foreplay between a man and a woman before they have sex. Or it can involve a forbidden romance, a master-slave dichotomy, or any other adult theme, usually sexual in nature.
Adult role playing goes by various different names that mean different things to different people. The first is “erotic role playing” which commonly refers to role playing involving sexual themes. Erotica doesn’t have to result in sex. A further way of referring to adult role playing is “mature role playing” which is more indicative of a role play involving adults, not necessarily sex. The third semi-synonymous for adult role playing is “sexual role playing” and often refers to the act of dressing up in costumes and pretending to be someone or something else while you have sex with your partner. In the written role play convergence, sexual role playing simply means that the collaboration involves sex. Finally, “adult role playing” is an all-inclusive phrase that catches all of the individual role play subsets above.
Even with the emergence of computer role playing gaming, written forum-based role playing is a growing endeavor, even among the youth. With the increase in role playing interest comes the increase in interest in all of role playing’s subsets, including adult role playing. New adult role playing communities initiation up every day, each developing unique characteristics and convergence attitudes of their own.

Role Play – In the Army Now
Description: This fantasy can be either a “HIS” “HER” or both and it makes a power imbalance, which many fantasies do. In this fantasy one partner will take advantage of the other, whether that be by seduction or restraint – that is up to you two.
Possible Scenario: HIS
Army guy has captured the enemy in a need to extract information, hold her for an exchange, maybe revenge? This is a perfect fantasy for an adrenaline rush, let’s say an erotic hide and go seek. Rules and map of the area have to be given (how well do you know your partner) and hints from the enemy can be given. You must establish what information is required. Once captured, the army guy has the right to interrogate prisoner in any number of fashions – i.e. sexually stimulating, restraint, depravation. This fantasy could start out in a pub, disco, restaurant. You should have transport available to take your enemy to a “detention centre.” An army man/woman costume, navy, or any military costume will do.
Possible Scenario: HER
The spy needs vital information from the general. She knows his regular haunts and is determined to accidentally run into him at a local lounge. The seductress, plots to meet the general at his regular drinking spot. Sitting alone at the bar she sees him come in. She should be discreet, i.e. passing by him on her way to the rest room, pretending to stumble and catches herself on his chair. Sitting at the bar she could look and smile at him, cross and uncross her legs. She slowly walks over and questions if he want to buy her a drink…or she him. A conversation is struck and eventually she takes him up to her room. She could then in act various scenarios: sexual enticement, sexual acts, retraining him, ‘pretend’ to drug him, sexual torture, even just fantastic sex (tame to wild) and pillow talk.
For this fantasy she should be dressed incredibly seductive. A military costume is a must for him.
Possible Scenario: BOTH – As with any fantasy it is all in this area imagination and your willingness to get into the part. For example:
- You could be in different areas of the military and meet on leave.
- You could both be spy’s trying to get the upper hand.
- You can switch around the his and her fantasy.
